Hey uh Mercury in Retrograde I have a question for you...Can you kindly f*ck off and go away?I'm being thrashed like every country that's faced the US Womens Basketball Team since, like, forever.Signed,SDR's the world over Anyone else in sales feeling this way while Mercury is doing their thing?

    I've made this comment a lot recently but I feel as if no one in the SDR/BDR role is doing this.Gamifying prospecting.When I was at Social High Rise, Mark Sorenson would do a 1 hour sprint and the winner of that sprint would get a $10 starbucks gift card. Competing against my team mates helped me not clock watch and instead focus on the metrics to win. a 1 hour sprint felt like 5 minutes and made the day go quick and fill up the calendar at the same time.Other places I've had a 1:1 wager with a friend on who would get the most dials, conversations, or meetings booked. We'd wager who could say the word "Meow" the most (Thank you Super Troopers for the inspo!).Nowadays, instead of competing against others, I compete against myself. On Fridays at the end of the day, I take ten minutes to pull reporting and see how I did. Then i take the KPI's that matter and increase them by 1% and that's my goal for the following week. Dials, Conversations, meetings booked etc.My reward if I improve my numbers by 1% or more? I buy myself a pack of Football cards at the hobby shop.So make a game out of it. Whether you cold call, email, leverage social- figure out the KPI's that matter for you hitting your goals then gamify it.What reward would you give to yourself if you beat your previous week by 1%?

    If you cold call for a living, I have a suggestion for you that might make a massive impact on your energy in dialing all day long.I learned this trick from Naommi Kelley when we both worked in the insurance world and cold calling was life.I would have my headset in one ear, and an earbud in the other. Having my music playlist going in one ear helped me keep up the energy to keep the phone dialing and booking meetings.To this day, nearly every day I have a playlist in my ear going all day while i prospect.And yes, I have different playlists depending on when I'm calling, where I'm calling, and the persona I'm calling. It's odd for the first few hours getting used to having music in one ear and a person talking in the other, but when you finally get this skill mastered, it'll be a game changer!Do you have background noise/music playing while you're prospecting?

    Remember "Life Coaches" from like 2007-2014- they have updated their resume's and are now "thought leaders" in sales.I see more bloated bullsh*t on LinkedIn in a week than I would dealing with the Government.Oh- and those same "thought leaders" are also the biggest group of Pendejos who act like kings to SDR's. Maybe before being so incredibly rude to someone just doing their job, you should take a moment and ask yourself "How much of my info to they actually have?" Should we start publicly mocking these thought leaders and start asking for receipts or do we just block them and remove ourselves from their caca echo chamber?

    *ahem* pardon me while I get on my soap box for a quick minute.Just because you've been able to dupe 100 people into buying your MLM product, doesn't mean that you're a "regional director". it just means you are ok with exploiting your friends and family and total strangers.You're no different than insurance sales people who slam policies on people, used car salesmen that sell a car at 30% interest to 20 year old kids, or the scammers calling 24/8. Also, please don't try to change my mind on this one. Kthxbai
